Experience
Seeing as it has been some 20+ years since I last set foot within an educational establishment (other than for talks/presentations or for parent teacher evenings) I thought that apart from listing a few essential qualifications it would be more beneficial to document some of my previous work related experience on this page.
Educational Background
- Media Studies, Chemistry and Physics to O level standard
- Maths, English Language, Engineering Drawing A level
- BTEC National Diploma in Computer Electronics
- National Diploma in general Art and Design
Work Experience and Skills
- Various roles within the graphic design industry starting with general pasteup, typesetting, repro camera work through to Mac & PC DTP and film / DTP / Digital output.
- Darkroom experience including film processing and camera techniques.
- Extensive experience of print and finishing equipment and practices within the printing industry.
- Ability to work with CMYK, Hexachrome and Pantone spot colours including ability to work with duo/tritone spot colours
- Font layout, typography and manipulation.
- Studio manager of various design studios.
- Head of Design within three print related studios.
- Owner of Broadening Horizions since 2004
- Ability to effectively transfer/convert work for various media, including litho print, digital print, fabric
- Extensive experience working with vector images and converting low resolution raster images to scalable vector
